Supported employment

Time and again, people with serious limitations in their ability to function are referred to workshops for people with disabilities, who, with targeted individual support, have a good chance of being integrated into the general labor market.

Supported Employment [UB] offers this group of people an opportunity for self-determined participation in working life. The identified special support needs form the basis for the three project phases: orientation, qualification, and stabilization.

We look for suitable companies close to our participants' homes. Key selection criteria for the in-company trial and training placement are the perfect fit with individual requirements and the basic possibility of being taken on as a job. Training trainers support and accompany the participants throughout the entire process. They design the onboarding process together with the company's staff. Work processes are practiced step by step and internalized through frequent repetition.

Target group

The target group includes people whose participation in social life is permanently impaired due to the nature and severity of their disability, but who can achieve and maintain employment in the general labor market with the help of the measure.

Content & Services

1. Orientation phase

• Clarification of suitability and motivation
• Determination of individual support needs
• Operational testing and placement in the company
• Work in the network/support group

2. Qualification phase

• Implementation of qualification needs
• Supported training on company-based qualification positions
• Vocational training
• Interdisciplinary training

3. Stabilization phase

• Consolidation of the company internship and employment preparation
• Personal psychological counseling and training in cross-professional skills
• Establishment of internal support structures
• Organizing career support [if needed]

Duration & Course

You can join at any time. The standard duration is up to 24 months. In individual cases and after consultation with the funding agency, this can be extended by 12 months.

Financial support

Funding is provided by the employment agency or other rehabilitation funding bodies.
